SUBMENTOPLASTY
Pre-op photos demonstrate submental fullness and apparent neck skin laxity.
Following submentoplasty, the fat accumulation underneath the chin is thinned, allowing for
a diminishing of the convexity of the neck on profile view. A more favorable submental or cervico-mental angle
is imparted. Simultaneously, the neck muscle (platysma) and overlying skin are tightened.
Unlike the traditional facelift approach which conceals incisions around the ears, submentoplasty is performed through
carefully-designed skin incisions planned for underneath the chin. This approach may be favorable for some men whose concern is
limited to the under chin area and who prefer to avoid incisions around the ears.
